Falling for Wine

Celebratory drink

I discovered today that I need to rethink my choice of wine to reflect the change in seasons. I’m not a very discriminating wine connoisseur, but I’m always happy to try something new – and what better reason than it’s Fall. This is especially timely as the Gal’s Gathering is about to celebrate another birthday which, of course, requires an offering of wine.

According to Joe Bastianich on the Today Show, today, I should be looking for a combination of “light” and “intensity” to match both summer fare and hardier fall menus. Joe offered up five of his Fall favorites in whites, a rose, and reds, – all priced at $15 to $25.

Antinori Bramito Del Cervo Chardonnay 2010 – Italy
Domaine Martin Sancerre 2010 – France
Castella Di Ama Rosato 2010 – Italy
Sierra Cantabria Riserva 2005 – Spain
Jaeger Relativity Merlot – California

Will be checking out the local liquor locker for the Sancerre and the Merlot. The gals should be happy with that selection. Salut!
