Poet Maya Angelou

We celebrated Maya Angelou’s 84th birthday two years ago, //www.iminerva.com/maya-angelou/, and now we mourn her passing.  She inspired us, made us look inside ourselves, and made us stand a bit taller. Her poem, Phenomenal Woman, made me believe I could do anything as she reminded me….

“It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need for my care.
‘Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.”

A couple of my favorite quotes:

“You can’t use up creativity.  The more you use, the more you have.”

“The main thing in one’s own private world is to try to laugh as much as you cry.”

“If you have only one smile in you, give it to the people you love.”
Rest in Peace Ms. Angelou.  We will truly miss your spirit and your honest and lyrical voice.
